Named B2B Marketer of the Year by B2B Marketing, Sarah is an award-winning marketing leader with more than 15 years' B2B strategic marketing and communications experience within the insurance sector. She is currently CMO at Send, a SaaS software provider to the commercial and specialty market.
Started in 2017, the company has developed an Underwriting Workbench platform which uses advanced AI to take away manual friction and help insurers make better decisions, faster. Fast forward 6 years and Send has implemented solutions in Europe and North America. The company has over 80 staff members, reports year-on-year growth and is named a Leader by IDC.
Sarah is an active member of several insurance groups and mentors marketing professionals. Sarah was shortlisted for ‘Marketer of the Year’ at the Women in Insurance 2023 Awards.
Matt McGrillis

Matt McGrillis is a pioneering force in the world of InsureTech as the Co-founder and CTO of Send based in London. With a career spanning over two decades, he has spearheaded transformative initiatives within high-growth startups and global insurance giants alike. Matt's strategic vision revolves around enhancing product quality and revolutionizing IT solutions delivery.
At Send, Matt focuses on empowering global insurers by streamlining their underwriting operations through innovative products. As a technology specialist with a true empathy and understanding of real-world business problems, Matt uses that to help insurers transform their underwriting operations. With a focus on product innovation and delivery, his role at Send is to build better products and to deliver IT solutions differently.
Matt joined Altus in 2021 and is the Practice Director, Altus Specialty Markets having previously been CEO of Cognitive Risk.
Matt has over 30 years experience across a variety of sectors in both Insurance and technology, much of that operating within the Lloyd’s insurance market. Matt is entrepreneurial having started multiple businesses, a strategic thinker and implementation/delivery-focused individual, advocating the benefits of utilizing and adopting new technology solutions to existing insurance challenges, extremely comfortable delivering strategic change or architecting operational solutions all with a curious, design thinking mindset and true customer focus. Matt is extremely comfortable at all levels of interaction, from driving project teams to advising boards
Ryan is an awarded underwriter and a co-founder of TruStar, a specialty Managing General Agent based in Toronto, ON, Canada. He is responsible for leading TruStar’s strategic agenda, overseeing its operational effectiveness and heading its global Financial Lines underwriting group. Ryan previously held national roles at a global insurer, where he specialized in underwriting management liability for public companies and financial institutions. He has authored several technical white papers and has been featured in trade publications across Canada.
Ryan is also Chair of Canada’s Professional Liability Underwriting Society (“PLUS”), an advisor to Queen’s University’s Insurance Association, and has been recognized by various industry groups as an Insurance Professional of the Year and a North American Emerging Leader.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s Business School at Queen’s University and several certifications in Enterprise Risk Management from University of Toronto.
